Cece Segarra, is Miami’s shining star. “I have always been consistent with what I wanted in life, and I’ve never strayed away from that.” She has worked hard to hold her title dear to her and being a latin/pop artist, Cece shows the world that being young, dedicated and persistent pays off in the end. A singer, dancer, song writer and perfect product for the youth to immulate, Miss Cece Segarra, definitely prove if you keep God first, things can definitely, “Go Your Own Way”. “My focus is to really show everyone who Cece is.”

Q: How does it feel to be launching your first single?

A: Honestly, it feels kind of weird. (Laughing) I’m so used to dreaming about this sort of thing. Now my dream is my reality! I’m extremely happy.

Q: How does this song compare to other songs playing on the radio right now?

A: This is your typical feel good song except there’s one catch… It sends a message to people everywhere that they should have dignity, confidence and worthiness so that they do not become subjected to disrespect by anyone….but in a fun way! (smile)

Q: Who produced this song? Wrote it? And Gucci..how did you get him on the track?

A: This tracks was produced by The HeavyWeights. It was written by Grammy-award winning songwriter ES, a ht maker and musical genious in my opinion. My manager reached out to Gucci’s rep’s about “Go Your Own Way”, and he though it was HOT. Having Gucci on the record added the icing to my cake :) Working with him was even better!!! What I love most about Gucci is his character and charisma..plus he’s pretty tall. I’m 5′9 and with heels…6ft, which made shooting the video comfortable!lol..

Q: So, you shot the video already? How was that?

A: Shooting my music video was so surreal….It still is. Im blessed and sooooo thankful.

Q: So, we hear you are a writer..did you write any songs on this album?

A: I was given the opportunity to write and co-write on this album. If it wasn’t for my writing, I would have never attained my deal with Weight Records. The label has really supported and promoted my development as a writer and singer.

Q: How did you feel when you first heard ‘Go Your Own way’?

A: This joint is poppin’! lol I knew immediately that we had a good thing going. Once I recorded it and shot the video, I was sure we had the next feel good summer-anthem!”

Q: What do you want your fans to feel when they hear Go Your Own Way?

A: This record was made to be a positive influence. I want people to feel happy when they hear it, as corny as that may sound. Its really an anthem for confidence and self-love and appreciation. Never settle for less..always strive for better. And that’s how I want people to feel when they hear ‘Go Your Own Way’.

Q: Where did you get the name CeCe?

A: My best friend gave me the name Cece (short for Christina) when we were “free styling”. Don’t get excited, I’m not good. I’ll stick to singing and dancing for now! lol

Q : What is your creative release as an artist?

A: As an artist, I can’t just limit myself to writing and singing. It’s a must for me to dance, act, direct, and mentor etc. A lot of me and what I stand for goes into my music. Positivity, especially right now. But, for as long as I can remember, dancing has always been my escape. Whenever I felt any emotion, whether it be happy, sad, upset, eager, nervous…I put on some music and get into my zone. It always makes me feel better..Creatively, I’d like to act and possibly direct one day..and Im commited to mentoring and volunteering..I have to give back, thats extremely important to me.

Q: What 3 words would you use to describe Go Your Own way?

A: Fun, catchy, you’ll definitely be humming the tune randomly, and motivating:)

Q: Where can we find your music?

A: Eeerwhere lol. iTunes, Cd baby, Napster, Amazon, Youtube, Myspace, and of course my website www.CeceSegarra.com

Q: Will you be touring or doing any shows soon?

A: But of course lol. My next show will be @ Mansion Nightclub in South Beach, Miami, FL. on Feb. 2 for the pre super bowl party hosted my DJ Khaled and the oh so fabulous Amber Rose and Chad Johnson. Following that is my show in Dallas for Allstar weekend along with Blackeyed Peas, I’m a HUGE fan and Keri Hilson whom I really admire as a writer and singer. Keep checking out my website, twitter, Facebook, or Myspace for upcoming shows.

Q: Any last words for your fans about your new song?

A: ummm, ya! ” Go Your Own Way” is one of my favorite records! Thank you all for stopping by to read my blog and listen to my song.

God Bless:)
CeCe

Courtesy of Nike. Ya like? I have a shoe fetish :). I have to do my research before I buy footwear. I’d rather spend 200 bucks on shoes coming from a legit factory then 20 bucks on shoes that are made in sweat boxes with child labor!

How do you guys feel about that?

So I’m sitting in a restaurant with my mother and the table next to us is complaining about the food. They practically leave all the food on the plate knowing that the servers will just throw it out. That makes me so upset knowing that there’s probably a hungry, homeless man down the street they could have given it to.

We sit in these restaurants and spend unnecessary money on clothes or little outfits for our DOGS, but not once do we think about the people struggling in Haiti or any other less fortunate country. America needs to wake-up and start taking action. Just because you donate a pair of shoes to someone once a year, doesn’t mean anything when there are 6 BILLION people in the world. Half of which need help. Am I over reacting? Please let me know if I am and I’ll shut up!

Just think about it next time,
Cece

It was wonderful to see all the stars align in a grand performance for the Hope For Haiti Telethon. Seeing Stevie, Alicia, Madonna, Wycleff, JT, Christina, Beyonce, and Bono (to name a few lol) really inspired me to work even harder to achieve my goals. A major priority of mine is to be heavily involved in humanitarian work in hopes that one day I can can start my own organization. HFHN raised over 57 million dollars with donations STILL being made via phone, web, and text.

I loved the personalization song Jay-Z put together along with Bono and Rihanna. My personal favorite was Wycleff’s performance. I love soca music and you really get a feel of Haiti in his song. Available on iTunes now is the Hope for Haiti Now album and is currently #1 in over 18 countries. What did you guys think of the performances? Who was your Favorite? Man, I wish I was apart of that show!!! Maybe next time (under other circumstances of course) :)

TYL Cece
